My primary teaching role is to ensure that the students are aware of the requirement to be a professional healthcare worker while on their  placement whether that be 3 years or 1 year. And to prepare them for when they start employment in the NHS.

This involves the students not only understanding what it means to be a professional but also their roles and responsibilities as they start out on the next adventure. The topics covered range from;-  

• Patient Confidentiality and Informed Consent, Safeguarding, Ethics in Healthcare, Evidence Based Practice, and Reflective Practice.
• Current guidelines which impact upon practice.
• Current NHS Policies around patient and staff care
• Roles and importance of Professional Bodies
• Employability related to clinical physiology

My teaching role extends to preparing students for placement on the HSC physiological science and Applied Biomedical Science programmes.
