In sync with business
Designed for managers, senior professionals and entrepreneurs, the MBA can accelerate your career development or enhance your business’s performance by furthering your knowledge and understanding of strategic management, finance, marketing, human resource management and international business.
International business and innovation
The Business School has formed many international links and has collaborations with Universities and Business organisations in over 40 countries including China, Germany, United States, India, Sweden, Czech Republic, Singapore, Australia and Italy.
Our alumni are also spread across the globe.
An integral part of the MBA includes an overseas study tour, Previous tours have included Barcelona, Beijing, Budapest, Ljubjana, Prague, Buenos Aries and Argentina. You will observe management practice in different organisational and cultural settings, with factory visits and presentations from entrepreneurs, consultants and government officials as well as lecturers from the associate university.
In 2018, we will be visiting Shanghai for our International Study Tour.

*Please note that the International Study Tour is optional for students on the MBA Degree Apprenticeship, however it cannot be paid for through apprenticeship funding.

Early in the programme a residential takes place in the Peak District.
This enable you to achieve a number of learning objectives, participate in team building opportunities, find out more about your studies and meet your fellow MBA students in an informal environment.
A second, more reflective residential weekend takes place in year two, where your strategic business perspectives are challenged through a business simulation exercise with your peers. During this weekend you are also introduced to your dissertation work, the final stage of your MBA.

Many of our MBA students live or work away from Manchester and access study materials 24/7 via our online study environment, Moodle. It enables you to access reading lists, download journal articles, contribute to online discussion groups, email your tutors, view podcasts and submit assignments.
It is essential for any MBA to be rooted in the business community. We invite guest speakers to discuss pertinent strategic and operational issues from a range of organisations including SMEs and entrepreneurial start-ups.
A commercial/industrial visit programme compliments the theories taught and typically includes: Jaguar Land Rover, Roberts Bakery, Siemens, Manchester United, the BBS and BDO Stoy Hayward.
Coaching is a valued approach to individual development and is becoming a well-establish practice in business to enhance leadership and business practice. As a result, throughout the duration of the MBA you will have the benefit of one-to-one coaching as part of your personal development whilst on the MBA programme.
The research area of Business and Management is the focus for the strategic development of research in management domains across Manchester Metropolitan University. Our research activity reflects our international outlooks and is focused on enhancing the contribution of research to the practice of management.
