Bringing the magic of books and stories to children in hospital.
We are delighted to support the UK charity Read for Good. We’d love you and your school to get involved and help bring brand new books and storytellers to Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Get your local school to run a Read for Good sponsored read - they will be in with a chance of winning £200 worth of books for their library!
Manchester Children’s Book Festival would love your school to sign up and take part in a Manchester Children’s Book Festival Read for Good sponsored read. Pupils ask family and friends to sponsor them to read as much as they can every day, of whatever they fancy, from comics to classics. Simple!
Hundreds of Manchester schools have pledged to run Read for Good’s sponsored reads to date, helping us raise thousands of pounds – enough to stock two shelves of books on two wards at Manchester Children’s Hospital school.
Schools can order your free resource kit now, go to www.readforgood.org selecting MCBF when ordering. For more info please contact Read for Good at firstname.lastname@example.org
2. Make a donation.
If you are not a school but would like to support Read for Good’s work in hospitals, you can donate directly to their hospital programme. Visit readforgood.org/donate or text STORY to 70500 to donate £5* instantly.
