Our own Dr April Pudsey this weekend jointly hosted, with Dr Emma Bridges, the Institute for Classical Studies’ Public Engagement in Classics Event, bringing together Classicists across the UK working on public engagement projects, particularly those involving children and young people.
The workshops and discussions saw presentation of recent projects such as the ‘Athenas’ Owls’: a series of young children’s engaged story-telling activities in public libraries, run by Classics PhD students at University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, and now supported by MCYS. The event was live-tweeted using the hasthtag #publicclassics
Dr Emma Bridges has also blogged about the event here.
