Media Coverage Work on microbial communities in long-term heavy metal contaminated ombrotrophic bogs was the subject of an article by Robin McKie (Science Editor) in the Observer Newspaper on Sunday 30th March 2008 (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/mar/30/pollution.conservation). The work has since received wide-spread national and international media attention. Including: The Globe and Mail (Canada’s Largest National newspaper), The Matlock Mercury, BBC Radio Derby, BBC Radio Sheffield, BBC Radio Manchester BBC North-West Tonight. The work has also appeared on numerous web-based news pages. Work on CO2 flux in Kalahari soil crusts has been featured on many international internet news pages including www.wissenschaft-online.de , www.sciencedaily.com and www.firstscience.com.
