Employment and Mental Health: Towards a five-day weekend society?

Dr. Daiga Kamerāde is a Reader in Work, Well-being and Community at the University of Salford. She is a work and employment researcher who combines sociological and psychological perspectives. Her research focuses on work, employment, well-being and civic participation and covers many European countries. She has an expertise in quantitative research methods and has been involved in data collection and analysis consultancy work for numerous private and public sector organisations.

In her presentation Daiga will introduce findings from the Employment Dosage research project, conducted in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Cambridge. The project examines what is the minimum number of working hours needed in order to gain mental well-being benefits from paid work and at what number of working hours the mental health benefits of work are at their highest, as well as whether it is quantity or quality of work that matters most for workers' mental health.
