Improve your cycling skills and confidence

We are offering a range of cycle courses including learn to ride and basic maintenance classes

The Environment team are working in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester to offer a varied programme of cycle riding and maintenance workshops over the course of this academic year.

With the recent improvements to the Oxford Road Corridor, the introduction of segregated cycle lanes, and the introduction of the Mo Bike scheme in Manchester in mind, it is likely that more of our students and staff may consider cycling to University.

To support our students and staff to gain the skills required to cycle with confidence on the roads, and in the segregated cycle lanes, we are offering a range of cycle courses including learn to ride, road rider ready and basic maintenance classes.

Whether it’s been a while since you’ve ridden a bike or maybe you’ve never had the chance to try. Maybe you are a fairly confident off-road or recreational cyclist, but would like to gain the confidence to cycle on-road. Or, perhaps you would like to know how to undertake basic bike checks and maintenance- check out the programme of bike courses on offer this year.

Here is a quick breakdown of what’s on:
