START YOUR NURSING JOURNEY IN 2019

NURSES MAKE A DIFFERENCE EVERY DAY

Nurses are the friendly face of healthcare, the calm voice explaining a procedure or outlining treatment options. They are the go-to figure to provide unwavering support, the one ensuring patient safety and giving care no matter what the circumstances.

As a nurse, you’ll specialise in caring for and supporting vulnerable people. Your patients might have acute illnesses, long-term illnesses or mental health issues, and they could be at any stage in their life.

Our aim is to make sure we prepare you for the challenges you may face and develop the expertise you’ll need to become a leader in nursing whatever stage of your career you are at.

Our placement circuit

We want to make sure you’re prepared for the challenges of modern nursing practice, so you’ll spend half of the course on clinical placements in the Greater Manchester area.

Usually, you’ll go on block placements, with each one normally lasting between 5 and 10 weeks. You’ll cover day shifts, weekends and nights so that you can experience the full 24-hour cycle of care.

Your placements could be in NHS hospitals or community settings, or in the private, independent and voluntary sector. You’ll gain experience in medical, surgical, acute/critical care, rehabilitation and community environments through your placements. Previous placements include working in a District Nursing Service, an operating theatre in a hospital, and a nursing home.
