Our range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses is informed by our expertise in areas including health and behaviour change, community psychology, forensic psychology and performance and positive psychology.
All our courses are delivered at our new Birley Campus with its specialist psychology facilities. Your learning is supported by our advanced specialist psychology facilities which include a bio-psychology laboratory, social and developmental observation suite, an experimental workshop and numerous experimental testing laboratories. Our wide range of assessments ensures that as well as gaining specialist psychological knowledge you develop a wide range of key transferable skills for employment.
In addition to our single honours psychology course, we offer a range of combined honours courses including business and psychology, philosophy and psychology and biology and psychology. We also provide a psychology with a foundation year degree for students with non-traditional or no prior qualifications. All of our courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership provided that you achieve a 2:2 or above and, in the case of combined honours courses, you major in psychology in at level 5 and level 6.
The Department of Psychology boasts numerous taught postgraduate courses which reflect our staff expertise; counselling, forensic psychology, psychology and criminology, psychology, and psychology by research. A number of research degrees in psychology are also available. Students with a non-accredited degree can gain British Psychological Society Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership through studying our online MSc Psychology conversion award.
