For the 2020 QuietManDave Prize
Kate Feld writes short fiction, essays, poetry, and work that sits between forms. Her writing has appeared in journals and anthologies including Hotel, The Stinging Fly and The Letters Page. She is founding editor of creative nonfiction journal and reading series The Real Story, and has devised and run Arts Council-funded writing projects such as Rainy City Stories and The Blog North Awards. She has worked as a journalist for many years and is now a lecturer in Journalism at Salford University. She can be found at katefeld.com.
Tania Hershman is the author of a flash fiction collection, My Mother Was An Upright Piano (Tangent 2012), two short story collections and three books of poetry, and co-author of Writing Short Stories: A Writers' & Artists' Companion (Bloomsbury, 2014). Her particle-physics-inspired hybrid pamphlet is forthcoming from Guillemot Press in March 2020. She is co-creator of the @OnThisDayShe Twitter account putting women back into history, and is founder and curator of short story hub ShortStops (www.shortstops.info). Shane Kinghorn is a Senior Lecturer in Drama and Contemporary Theatre at Manchester Metropolitan University. He has previously worked in London as a director and dramaturg. His teaching has focused on the practice and application of dramaturgy, examining the relationship between the ‘dramatic’ and contemporary performance trends. His performance work has shown in several international festival contexts and informs his specialist research area, documentary and verbatim theatre practice in the UK and Europe, the subject of recent and forthcoming publications. He is chair of judges for the 2020 QuietManDave Prize.
