The Graduate School supports postgraduate researchers to attend conferences to help them develop both professionally and personally.
This year, we were delighted to send two PhD students to attend Cumberland Lodge's Life Beyond the PhD conference that took place in August.

The annual event focuses on the development and wellbeing of the researcher as an individual, and explores the wider social value of doctoral research. The conference programme includes sessions on:
The competition was open to all PhD students in their first three years (for full-time students) or six years (for part-time students). Eligible students were asked to submit a short statement about the Impact of their Research which was assessed by a judging panel and the top two entries were chosen.
The competition for this year is now closed. We will be posting photos and information from this year's conference following the event.
If you have any queries about future opportunities to attend this conference, please contact the Graduate School, firstname.lastname@example.org, +44 (0)161 247 5077.
