SciBar: January

The third SciBar of the 2018/19 series is with Dr Michael Carroll, Senior Lecturer in Reproductive Science at Manchester Metropolitan University.

January's topic is: Evolution of the Penis

Animals have evolved many physical traits and strategies in an attempt to survive in nature. The sexual organs of many species are some of the most varied, specialised, and bizarre in the animal kingdom. This talk will describe some of these structures in light of sexual selection and will culminate with some of the current theories posited for the evolution of the human penis.

This event will take place on Thursday 31st January from 6:30pm onwards. The talk will last around 30 mins, followed by a question and answer session and the chance for further discussion while enjoying a few drinks in the cosy settings of the Gullivers pub. No scientific background needed, just turn up and join in!

* Please note the change of venue for SciBar. The new venue for this year will be Gullivers, 109 Oldham Street, Manchester, M4 1LW
