SciBar: February

The fourth SciBar of the 2018/19 series is with Dr Kathryn Adamson, Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography at Manchester Metropolitan University.

February''s topic is: Ice and a slice: glaciers and climate change

There are 200,000 glaciers in the world. Some of these icy giants formed thousands of years ago, and have witnessed major climate change. We'll explore how scientists use glaciers to understand the state and fate of earth's climate, and answer the key question: what can an alcoholic beverage tell us about climate change?

This event will take place on Thursday 28th February from 6:30pm onwards. The talk will last around 30 mins, followed by a question and answer session and the chance for further discussion while enjoying a few drinks in the cosy settings of the Gullivers pub. No scientific background needed, just turn up and join in!

* Please note the change of venue for SciBar. The new venue for this year will be Gullivers, 109 Oldham Street, Manchester, M4 1LW
