Applied Criminology

MA Applied Criminology focuses on a critical appreciation of criminological theories, theoretical and applied research methods and analyses of criminal justice and contemporary criminological issues.

Applied Quantitative Methods

MSc Applied Quantitative Methods is based within the Manchester Metropolitan University Q-Step Centre, this MSc approaches the study of quantitative methods in an innovative way, which emphasises career-ready skills that would prepare students for careers working with data and quantitative analysis, or as suitable preparation for doctoral study.

Digital Society

MSc Digital Society draws on expertise from both the Department of Sociology and the Department of History Politics, and Philosophy. It provides an opportunity to study theoretical approaches to living in a digital society informed by an advanced understanding of social science research, with optional specialism in either digital politics or digital society.

Social Research

The Department of Sociology also run the cross-faculty course, MA Social Research. This Masters award provides an opportunity for postgraduate learning and development in the study of research in the social sciences, with an orientation towards knowledge and enquiry at the forefront of the field. This course is run in conjunction with the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care.
