“The course was challenging, thought provoking and delivered at the correct level for me.”
About My Degree

I chose Manchester Met and the course because of the location and fees, its reputation and the motivation of lecturers on the open day. For me, the best things about the course were the knowledge of lecturers and guest speakers. It also opened up networking opportunities from academics, students and professionals alike.

The course has immensely improved my career prospects. Government reviews of the public sector are now gearing towards graduate entrance schemes and prior to completing the MA, I would not have featured, nor would have had the essential criteria to apply for posts. This has now changed.

What is your top tip for other students looking to study this course at Manchester Metropolitan University?

Go for it!

I was extremely hesitant; I wondered how I would fit it in together with being employed full time, a mum and wife. I also had a lack of educational attainment having not been in education for 20+ years - this all put me off. However, the institutions resources are great, the staff are brilliant and within reason are extremely accommodating. The course was challenging, thought provoking and delivered at the correct level for me.

Please complete this sentence: ‘I’m inspired by…’

My learning style is that of an activist, so people who inspire me are “can do” people. Positive mental attitude!

What do you love about Manchester Met?
