I am now in my fourth consecutive year of study at Man Met, across both undergrad level and postgrad; what I like most about my course is the lecturers/tutors, they are so enthusiastic about teaching and incorporate their own research and experiences into the lecture delivery, while also making it an interactive experience. I am so pleased that I have had the experience of being taught by lecturers such as Anneke Meyer and Katie Milestone on the media units, which were two of my favourite units from my undergraduate degree.
The main skill that I’ve developed while at Man Met is my language ability, both verbally and in written form. I have also gained a lot of confidence, from having to forge new relationships not only with the people I live with and my peers, but with lecturers and tutors too. As well as developing confidence in myself when delivering presentations and for activities outside of university such as, job interviews. I'm also a student rep for my MA course.
My top tip for students living on campus is to maintain a good relationship with your housemates!
…the hard work of mature students who were juggling their studies, themselves and their families! (Which made me seriously contemplate whether Jeremy Kyle, Judge Rinder and Come Dine With Me was a productive way to spend my afternoon!)
The thing I love most about Man Met is the 24/7 library, I wasn’t aware this was such a luxury, but when speaking to students studying at other universities, it’s quite a rare!
