The Master of Sport Directorship (MSD) at Manchester Metropolitan University is the first masters level degree of its kind.
It is designed to develop the commercial skill sets and personal attributes that are required to succeed as a top flight sporting director. The programme is a two year part-time course, delivered in blocks and with remote study at the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School.
The course, launched in 2014, is aimed squarely at sport and business professionals who want to grow their breadth of professional expertise and credentials. Our students gain knowledge in a whole array of the executive and strategic development aspects of a sports organisation, develop an ingrained understanding of the governance requirements of directors within sporting businesses and bodies.
Unlike any other course currently offered, the Manchester Metropolitan University Master of Sport Directorship (MSD) is a fully accredited true masters level qualification, and the only one in the world to have graduated fully qualified Sporting Directors, many already working in elite sporting clubs and organisations.
