Play for fun

If you don't fancy the commitment of joining a team, then come along to Active Campus Touch Rugby where you can turn up and play for fun.

It doesn't matter if you're an experienced player or have never played before, Active Campus is for everyone and all abilities. Our friendly student activators will be on hand to welcome you and guide you through the session.

Active Campus timetable

Compete

Compete against friends, flatmates and course mates in our Rugby Union Campus League. Play weekly fixtures with qualified referees and compete against other university teams in Manchester.

Our Campus Leagues are a great way to play the sport you love in a social but competitive environment, with trophies and prizes at the end of the year for the winning team.

The Manchester Met Rugby Union club is one of our performance sports. This provides an integrated pathway with our partners Sale Sharks Academy.

Our sport staff

Coaches and support staff

Rob Jones is the Head Coach for the men's teams and Rugby Development Officer for MMU Sport, bringing extensive experience from having both played and coached in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Rob also currently coaches the Hungarian National 7s Team, North of England's leading elite invitational 7s team, Red Panda.

Steph Veal coaches the women's teams alongside coaching Waterloo Ladies Football Rugby club as well as working for Manchester Rugby development group.
