Many students who have worked with us have gone on to have successful careers in industries such as teaching, marketing, media, design, coaching, sports development and more.

We are currently recruiting for a number of work-based learning roles across multiple areas of sport. These roles allow you to earn RISE points, which go towards your degree. See below for more information.

Placement roles for 2024/25

We will be offering two paid placement opportunities for the 2024-25 academic year:

  • Sport Development Assistant Placement
  • Physical Activity and Wellbeing Assistant Placement

Part-time paid work 2024/25

Each year we have a team of students who assist our Sport Development team in the co-ordination and officiating of our Active Campus and Campus League programmes.

RISE Opportunities (Voluntary)

Our sports clubs offer a number of opportunities for students pursuing a career in coaching or performance analysis.

You can gain hands on experience working alongside our lead sport coaches and assisting the performance of our teams within BUCS competitions. All students who undertake a role as part of our Student Workforce team are eligible to gain RISE points.

Being a sports co-ordinator for MMU Sport has given me the opportunity to take part in something that I am passionate about and enjoy whilst developing crucial skills for my future, such as leadership and organisational skills. This role has also helped me to understand more about coaching and how different people react in sporting situations which is valuable to me as a sports science student.
