There are lots of ways to stay fit and healthy at university.
Our health and fitness programmes cater for all levels of fitness and nutrition knowledge. We offer group personal training and nutritional advice through our MMU Fit and Healthy U programmes.
HealthyU is back for term 2, and this time the practical cooking workshops will run on a pay-as-you-go basis for 45-minute sessions.
HealthyU is a series of fun, practical cooking workshops running out of the brand new Grow Café in the North Atrium of the Business school. The sessions take place on Wednesdays, 16:30 – 17:15 and Fridays, 12:00 – 12:45. As well as a practical cooking session, you will be able to take part in a number of health and wellbeing sessions such as yoga, mindful meditation, Pilates, breathe and relax and Zumba.
The programme includes healthy tips and tricks alongside nutrition and wellbeing advice.
Cost: £5 a session.
Sessions: 26 February and 28 February 2020 - Sushi and Yoga
18 March and 20 March 2020 - Kimchi and Pilates
22 April and 24 April 2020 - Fruit Salads/Ultimate Vegan Sandwiches and Breathe & Relax.
20 May and 22 May 2020 - Healthy Pot Noodles and Zumba.
A beginner’s introduction to MMU Fit. Feel comfortable, exercise as a group, inspire each other and get that personal training experience without paying the cost.
These beginners sessions are the stepping-stone to your fitness journey. Our friendly instructor Claire will cover all the basics, ensuring that you finish the course feeling confident to work out on your own or move on to the next step of MMU Fit.
Cost: £20 for a six week programme
Starts: 10th March 2020
Group personal training in a supportive and friendly environment over a six-week period. MMU Fit gives you the opportunity to train with like-minded people, at a convenient time and location, and empowers you with the knowledge to perform a variety of exercises. Includes personal development and progress tracking. Sessions take place Monday and Wednesday.
MMU Fit is the next step on from the beginners class. You will continue to improve your fitness and our instructor Eugene will put you through your paces with high intensity sessions to help you reach that next level of physical fitness.
Cost: £20 for the six week block (one session a week, Mondays), £30 for the six week block (two sessions a week, Mondays & Wednesdays)
