Campus Leagues

Coming soon...

Campus Leagues are the intra-mural sport offer for MMU Sport. Our new leagues will be starting in October with football, rugby, netball, basketball and badminton.

Campus Leagues are your chance to get your friends, flatmates and course mates together to form teams and compete against others. The leagues are a great way to get active and play the sport you love in friendly, welcoming environment.

We currently have netball and football leagues already running, which you can find more information about below.

For further information about the 2018/19 leagues, please contact our Intra-Mural Sport Development Officer Alicia on a.green@mmu.ac.uk or 0161 247 688

Manchester

11-a-side football

Bring out your competitive side and compete in our league against another group of friends, a neighbouring hall of residence or a rival department! Our FA qualified officiated 11-a-side football leagues are extremely popular with students at Manchester Met. Last year there were two divisions and we hope to expand the leagues further this year with new halls and course teams.

All fixtures have FA qualified refs, there is an annual tournament and an end of year awards celebration.

Where does it take place?

Hough End Playing Fields, Princess Parkway, Chorlton, Manchester, M20 1HP. You can get there via the main university campus by getting the 101 bus towards Wythenshawe, which takes around 15/20 minutes.

When does it take place?

Every Wednesday during term time. Fixtures kick off at 14:00.

How much does it cost?

Registration costs £300 a team or as an individual for £20. For £20 a player you get one game a week during term time and an additional cup competition. This registration fee goes towards pitch hire, insurance and an end of season awards celebration. Awards include player of the year, top goal scorer and goal of the year to name a few.

How do I register?

Registration is now closed for 2017-18 but will re-open in May 2018 for the 2018-19 season.

What if I don't have a team?

We can help you find one! Just pop us an email on sport@mmu.ac.uk

Netball

Want to represent your halls or just fancying playing more regularly? Give our brand new Netball league a go!

Bring out your competitive side and compete in our league against another group of friends, a neighbouring hall of residence or a rival faculty! Our officiated netball league is a great alternative to the highly competitive club environment and provides students with an opportunity to play the game at a more sociable and friendly level.

Where does it take place?

Sugden Sports Centre, 114 Grosvenor St, Manchester, M1 7HL.

When does it take place?

The league takes place every Monday evening during term time between 16:30 and 18:00. If you are unsure about playing in a league, pop down to our free Active Campus netball session on a Thursday from 16:30 - 17:30 at Sugden Sports Centre for a refresher and chat to our Activator who will be able to tell you more about the league.

How much does it cost?

Registration this year is completely FREE and you can register your team by emailing sport@mmu.ac.uk.

What if I don't have a team?

Don’t worry if you don’t have a team, just pop down to our session on a Monday and we'll find you a team to play with. You never know - they could become friends for life!
