Chris Midgley

I’m a part-time Senior Lecturer in Leadership and Management within a wider ‘portfolio career’ that involves leadership and educational management consultancy - which all informs my teaching at MMU. I have a strong interest in public services leadership and senior leader development.

Previous lecturing roles have been within health and social care leadership, educational leadership and apprenticeships (Senior Leadership Degree Apprenticeships), as a BSc, MSc and MBA programme leader. I am passionate about the use of online learning technologies in developing and enhancing blended learning that is accessible and inclusive. 

I am a former Army Officer within the Army Education and Training Services branch, and still work part-time as an Army Reservist. In 2022, I was part of the team that secured the highest level of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme - Gold – for MMU. As a current Army Reservist, I’m very honoured to work within the Centre for Army Leadership where I am developing the Leader Development Competence Framework for the Army.
