My profile

Biography

I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Strategy and Sustainability at the Department of Strategy, Enterprise and Sustainability at Manchester Metropolitan University. I joined MMU in September 2023. Prior to that role, I was a Research Fellow at Catolica Lisbon School of Business and Economics in Lisbon. I conducted my doctoral research at Paris Dauphine University.

My research critically investigates the role of businesses in the creation and the solution to social issues such as poverty alleviation and social inequalities, and to environmental issues such as climate change or loss of biodiversity. I am currently developing a research project to investigate the intersection of the social and the environmental dimensions of sustainability, focusing for instance on the notion of environmental justice. I study these topics with a qualitative approach (case studies, critical discourse analysis,…) and from a critical perspective. I studied different industries: the fashion industry,  the banking and financial services industry, the oil industry as well as business and management education.

I draw on different theories, and use frameworks developed in human geography and international relations.
