Dear Colleague

Thank you for offering a school-based training placement(s). As always, we are very grateful for your involvement in initial teacher training and for the invaluable support and guidance that you give to our students.

Please see the table below for key information for the forthcoming placement.

Delany, 9

Wednesday 10th October 3.00 – 5.00pm– Manchester
Birley building, 4.49

All placement documentation is available via the Partnership website.

However, this is not a full substitute for meeting with you and discussing the forthcoming placement in person. The briefings for class mentors will take place on both sites and we very much hope you will be able to attend one of these meetings. In addition, there will be a number of cluster-based locations where the briefings will also be delivered. Arrangements for these will be emailed out to schools once the Partnership Tutors have confirmed arrangement with the host schools. There have been some inevitable changes to our documentation and placement requirements, so even if you have hosted a BA3 placement previously you would still benefit from attending one of the briefings. If you would like to host a cluster based briefing then please contact the Placements Office.

For the Manchester campus based briefing, the location is Birley Campus (Brooks Building). Please click onto the following link for the location of Birley and the Brooks building within the Manchester campuses

Parking at the Manchester campus is very limited and public transport is advised.

Class Mentors wishing to attend the meetings will need a permit to park, obtainable via email from the Placements Office. Visitors should note that a parking space is not guaranteed and that a valid Pay & Display ticket must be purchased at a cost of 30p an hour.  Car parking costs can be claimed back as part of visitors’ travel expenses (please ensure the parking ticket is attached to the expenses claim form, issued at the briefing meeting).

Would you please confirm attendance with the Placements Office by email: primaryplacements@mmu.ac.uk stating the name and postcode of your school and the full name of the teacher(s) attending?

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the Placements Office.

We hope that the placement is both enjoyable and productive for all concerned and would like to thank you once again for the support that you offer to the students and for your continued contribution to high quality Initial Teacher Education in partnership with MMU.

Yours sincerely

Rania Maklad
Partnership Coordinator
