Training Sessions – January 2019

We would like to draw your attention to the forthcoming training sessions taking place at the start of the new academic term.

New Professional Mentor training will take place on Wednesday 9th January 2019, Rm 2.19, 2nd Floor, Brooks

Both meetings will begin at 4.40 pm and visitors will be able to use the multi-storey car park after 4.30 pm (ticket purchase will be required up until 5.00 pm).

The format of the training sessions will be different from previous years.  Professional and Subject Mentors should go to the Partnership website to watch short podcasts, these can be found in the Resources section on the Partnership Webpage https://www2.mmu.ac.uk/stepd/partnerships .

The podcasts listed below should be viewed prior to the meetings if possible and will take just over an hour to watch all six.  The podcasts will cover some of the more procedural aspects of the SM and PM roles that we do not have time to cover in detail in the meetings.

Subject Conference 2 (SMC2 ) is a combined event with Subject Mentor training on Wednesday 16th January. The SMC2 meetings are face-to-face meetings in all subjects. New Subject Mentors who are supervising trainees for the Block B phase must attend.

To sign up for the new Professional Mentor and Subject Mentor training meetings please register your attendance using the following link https://www2.mmu.ac.uk/stepd/partnerships/ you will find this at the bottom of the webpage under ‘Upcoming Events’

We will send a reminder email a couple of days prior to the training sessions confirming timings/room details.

We are short of placements for MFL (French/German/Spanish), English, Geography, Social Science and Psychology.  If you are able to accommodate extra trainees for these subjects, either individually or as a pair, or make an additional offer then please contact us.
