For over 100 years, we’ve been training secondary school teachers.

Our aim to help you become a confident and innovative teacher who is enthusiastic, effective, and analytical, and shares a commitment to life-long learning.

We offer over 20 subject specialisms for secondary education (ages 11 – 18 years) and when you graduate, you’ll have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

At Manchester Met, we work with over 800 secondary schools and colleges across Manchester and Cheshire. These partnerships allow us to offer you exciting placement opportunities, and many of our trainees work in these schools when they graduate.

You’ll find the Faculty of Education in the Brooks building, part of our Manchester campus. This innovative building features specialist teaching facilities for art and design, drama, design and technology, music, and science.

Thinking about changing careers to become a teacher? We welcome applications from mature students, and anyone with industry or commercial experience looking to retrain as a teacher.
