We specialise in training teachers to work in Secondary school and college settings (11 to 18 age range).

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) courses include Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and 60 Masters level credits. There are over 20 specialisms available at Manchester and a choice of University or School-led Routes.

Our full-time PGCE Secondary Education courses provide an intensive, one-year, postgraduate qualification aimed at those who hold a minimum 2:2 in a degree with at least 50% relevant content to the subject they wish to teach. For Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, we may also be able to consider substantial industry or commercial experience.

Alongside our PGCE Secondary routes, we are working collaboratively with the University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering to develop new undergraduate routes for those wishing to teach STEM subjects, including Mathematics or Physics at Secondary level.
