I am a School Partnership Tutor. My role is to work with primary schools to ensure that they are supported in providing outstanding school based training for our students. My role is one of Quality Assurance but also of Quality Development.
MSc (Educational Management) MMU
After graduating from Southampton I taught for 12 years in a variety of Primary Schools in a range of settings, including a year in Canada. My first headship was in a one form entry primary school and my second was in a three form entry Junior school. After 17 years as a headteacher I went to work in local government. Local government work is a very poor second to teaching, so when given the opportunity to go back to teaching I grabbed it with both hands. It was a steep learning curve, but extremely fulfilling and has equipped me well for my present role at the university. After three years teaching I had a year combining the job of Year 5 Teacher with that of Associate Lecturer. In September 2015 I took up my present post with the University.
