15:00-16:00
Brooks Reception, Birley Campus
At Birley, we’ll meet near reception in the Brooks building from where we’ll head over to Manchester Met Library. From there we'll walk up Oxford Road to Manchester Central Library where we'll explore the amazing free resources and services available if you sign up as a member of Manchester Public Libraries.
While you'll have everything academic provided by Manchester Met Library, we also work with Manchester Public Libraries to provide a collection of fantastic new book releases for you to borrow. Find out more about this collection here.
Continuing this partnership, ‘Library to Library’ will give you the opportunity to explore the many leisure activities Manchester Central Library can provide:
• E-books and digital audio books for indulgent reading
• RB Digital - digital copies of your favourite magazines
• Somewhere quiet for refreshing downtime
• The Media Lounge
• The Henry Watson Music Library - book an instrument, music workstation, or DJ on the mixing desk
Prior to our visit you can join the Central Library online here (choose City Library as your library) and collect your card when we visit. Alternatively, you can sign up as a member on the day and you will need to bring official ID such as a bank statement, driver’s licence etc. for full membership.
While you're studying in Manchester you’ll have two superb libraries at your service ensuring that you can always borrow and never have to buy!
