Carbon Literacy training part 1: Before the Flood screening

Business School room 3.08

Do you want to improve your employability by gaining knowledge and skills other graduates don't have?

Are you worried about climate change and want to find out ways you can act on it?

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges we are currently facing and it will affect all aspects of society. As a result, employers are increasingly realising the importance of employing graduates with an understanding of environmental and social issues in order to cope with future challenges.

By taking part in this training, you will gain an understanding of:
 The basic science behind climate change
 Social equity & climate change
 What you can do to act on climate change
 Strategies and skills for communicating action on climate change

The Carbon Literacy training consists of two parts:
1. ‘Carbon Literacy Knowledge’
In the first part of your Carbon Literacy training, you need to attend the film screening of Leonardo DiCaprio's award winning documentary "Before the Flood".

2. Carbon Literacy Workshop- “Climate Change Action and Communication”
The second part of the training is a workshop led by Manchester Met’s Carbon Literacy trainers. In this fun and engaging session, you will learn about what you can do to act on climate change as well as how you can persuade others to do the same.
