Our Shakespeare bee has arrived on campus

‘To Bee or not to Bee’ has landed in All Saints Park

You will have heard the buzz around campus that Manchester Metropolitan’s Shakespeare-themed bee has arrived at the University.

Over 100 bees swarmed into Manchester this week as part of Bee in the City and we are delighted to share the first picture of our bee sat in its new home.

‘To Bee or not to Bee’ flew into All Saints Park on Tuesday 24 July and is located on the grassed area in front of the main gate entrance to All Saints Park and is visible from Oxford Road.

Bee in the City is a public art exhibition and interactive trail that allows you to visit several landmarks, parks and public spaces across Greater Manchester and view each individually designed bee. You can get involved by downloading the map of all the bees on the Bee in the City website.

Name our Manchester Metropolitan bee 

We are buzzing to see the bee arrive on campus and for everyone at the University to take part in the trail – but our bee hasn’t got a name and we need your help.

The Shakespeare theme has been chosen to link to our excellent creative offerings at the University, so we need your name suggestions to show our #McrMetProud community spirit.

Please send all of your name ideas to internalcomms@mmu.ac.uk and the chosen name will be announced in the next two weeks. We would love to see the names complemented with a selfie of you and the bee – all of the best selfies and photographs will be shared over next nine weeks whilst the bee is on campus.
