Get involved in University life with these fantastic Welcome events

Whether you’re new to the University or back for the new term, our Welcome events calendar is packed full of fantastic activities for you to get involved in, to help you meet new people, have fun and settle into the Spring term.

Here’s a few highlights of the events taking place this month:

Pop-up Pub Games

Come down to our lunch-time Pop-up Pub Games throughout January and challenge other students to a quick game.  Remember all those great board games from childhood - Who is it?, Ludo, Bananagrams and draughts, plus loads more. Come and see if you’ve still got the magic touch!

The pop-ups will be held 12:00-14:00 across the Manchester campus:

The pop-ups aren’t faculty specific, so come along to as many as you like and meet students on different courses.

Refreshers Fair

If you missed out on the Freshers Fair in September or just loved it first time around, make sure you come along to the Refreshers Fair at The Union on Wednesday 23 January, 11:00-15:00.

Packed full of student discounts, free Domino’s pizza and the opportunity to join clubs and societies – definitely one for your diary!

Resource Discovery Day

There’s lots of fantastic e-resources, special collections and archives available to you at Manchester Met and the Library are hosting the Resource Discovery Day so you can discover how these resources can benefit your assignments and research.

Come along for a chat and a coffee on Thursday 17 January (10:00-14:00) in the Geoffrey Manton atrium to find out more.

Get Fit to Win

New term, new you! If you need a little bit of an incentive to get active, here’s your chance to Get Fit to Win prizes with MMU Sport.

All you have to do is attend one or more 20-minute classes between Tuesday 22 and Friday 25 January to be entered into the prize draw. The prizes up for grabs are:
