Everything you need to know about casting your vote on Thursday 12 December
Our next UK general election has been called for Thursday 12 December and we want to make sure you have everything you need to be election ready.
On polling day (Thursday 12 December), please visit your polling station between 7:00am – 10:00pm to cast your vote – make sure you visit the polling station that is named on your polling card (which will be sent to you by post).
On arrival, please give your name and address at the polling station, and when you are ready to cast your vote, put an X next to the candidate you wish to vote for on your ballot paper and put your ballot in the box.
If you registered for a postal vote, please make sure send your ballot back as soon as possible. If you don’t have time to return your postal vote – please take your ballot to your local polling station before 10:00pm on Thursday 12 December for your vote to be counted.
There are many measures in place across polling stations to increase accessibility and make it as easy as possible for you to vote. There will be trained staff on hand to provide impartial advice and support should you need assistance.
