A member of the Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing team may advise you to access a service called SilverCloud. This is an online CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) programme that contains several different courses, covering topics such as
Designed to be practical and help you to gain insight and learn how to make things better. For example, by identifying how certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours can make things worse or maintain the problem.
Each course is divided into sections and include videos, questionnaires, reading up on a topic or making a record of your thoughts.
As you work through the course your assigned supporter from the Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing team will check your progress online and give feedback. This may be week to week, or whatever time period you agree. The courses require you to be self-motivated and something of an independent learner, although your supporter will also try to motivate you.
