Entry requirements

An honours degree with classification of 2:2 or above, or an overseas equivalent, in a subject from a recognised higher education institution or an equivalent qualification e.g. F1-F9 ACCA qualification.

This online course can be completed within two years with a recommended study week of 20 hours, designed to complement your existing commitments.

Dr. Michael Flanagan

Michael is a Senior Fellow of the Foundation of Management Education based in the Accounting, Banking and Finance department of the University’s Business School. 

Michael has had an impressive 30 year commercial career with senior Director level experience and skills developed in international companies such as Shell, Philips, Salton and Time Computers. He has travelled extensively in Asia during his career and developed, directed and led many high performance management teams in Operations, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Purchasing and R&D.

Michael was awarded a PhD in Finance from Manchester Business School in 2013.  His research interests are in the area of Real Estate and Strategic Negotiation and he design/delivers courses including Finance and Investment (Real) Options, as well as the MBA class at Manchester Business School and the Shanghai University MBA Centre. He also delivers weeklong ACCA F9 and P4 seminars in Advanced Financial Management for Price Waterhouse Cooper Accountants to their associates in St Petersburg, Tbilisi, Almaty, Prague and Budapest.

Anna Egan

Anna joined the University two years ago as Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. Since then, Anna has been involved in the running of the ACCA professional programme and has delivered a range of units on this course. In addition, Anna is responsible for the delivery of a range of modules, including Financial Management, Management Accounting and Strategy to students at a variety of levels.

Anna's research interest lies in the area of corporate governance practice, in particular how individual and collective social identities impact upon decision making within and around Board of Directors. Anna is currently completing her PhD  in Corporate Governance at Dublin Institute of Technology in this area.
