Introduction

The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is the assessment for all aspiring solicitors in England and Wales, set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

The SQE is split into two assessments, SQE 1 and SQE 2. At Manchester Met we have developed two professional LLM courses which include SQE preparation units as part of the curriculum.

We have two courses available for law and non-law graduates. Our courses are professional LLM’s which means that you can complete SQE preparation, or law conversion, and receive a full masters qualification.

  • LLM Legal Practice (for law graduates)

Our LLM Legal Practice is suitable for law graduates, early career professionals and qualified lawyers in the UK and internationally. The course prepares you for both your centralised SQE assessments and a career in the 21st century legal industry.

  • LLM Graduate Legal Studies (for non-law graduates)

Our LLM Graduate Legal Studies is for non-law graduates who wish to convert their existing degree or professional experience into a legal qualification. This course opens the door to further study to become a barrister, or to prepare for the SQE route to becoming a solicitor.
