About the Food & Nutrition Teams

Two teams, Food Development and Food Science support the Food Nutrition section. They provide technical support for a wide portfolio of full and part-time undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes such as Human Nutrition, Nutritional Sciences and Food Development. These technical teams have a wide range of knowledge and skills essential in ensuring the practical elements of the taught programmes are delivered professionally.

These technical teams provide support for research and enterprise activities in various areas of Food and Nutrition covering specialist research subjects such as:

  • Fertility and Maternal Nutrition
  • Sports Nutrition and Physiology
  • Food Processing
  • Nutrient Metabolism
  • Functional Food
  • Diet and GI function
  • Food Safety and Policy
  • Projects undertaken by the Manchester Food Research Centre.
