Chris Robinson

Chris joined Manchester Metropolitan in January 2021 after a 25 year career in financial services, where he worked in a variety of sectors including banking, insurance and stockbroking. He has held a range of strategic and transformational leadership roles in IT. Most recently he was CTO and CIO, leading international IT and change teams in a FTSE-listed lending business.

Throughout his career, Chris has led on the strategy and design of large business and IT transformation programmes, delivered new international digital lending platforms, automated business processes and rolled out handheld devices to more than 36,000 users globally. He has successfully designed strategies transforming and moving scale corporate infrastructure to the Cloud.

Chris has significant experience in organisational transformation, having built near shore digital competency centres in Eastern Europe and re-designing and delivering entirely new global IT operating models, spanning teams in 11 countries in Europe and Latin America.  He has also successfully integrated the technology and people of digital businesses, acquired through M&A activity.

Chris has executive responsibility for the University’s IT and Digital strategy and associated portfolio of transformation initiatives, as well as Information Security and governance.
