My profile

Biography

I had an international career in hospitality and tourism, spanning twenty-five years, including seven in the USA and six in Greece! I worked my way ‘through the ranks’ as such, mainly in food and beverage roles. I became a hotel general manager in Greece, and shortly after I started an MSc in Responsible Tourism Management. I then worked for six years for TUI Group, the world’s largest tour operator, responsible for the development and delivery of sustainable tourism strategy. Before joining Manchester Met, I had my own consultancy business - Thinking Tourism - undertaking impact studies for example, in Jamaica, Croatia and Cabo Verde.

My main interests lie in sustainable development, in particular responsible tourism, which involves maximising the positive impacts and minimising the negative impacts that relate to the tourism supply chain.
