We would like to reassure our employer partners that during the Covid-19 outbreak, our aim is to keep learning and partnerships on-track as much as possible.
All of our apprenticeship teaching has moved to online delivery, involving a mixture of self-directed and independent study, along with live online webinars using the Adobe Connect Platform. As this is no doubt a busy time for many, all sessions will be recorded so they can be watched at alternative times if required.
All attendance monitoring arrangements are being paused until further notice, and apprentices should now log all of their learning time on the e-portfolio system. Skills Coach reviews are also taking place remotely and, in addition, the majority of forthcoming end-point assessments (EPAs) will be held virtually.
For any apprentices due to undertake EPAs in June 2020, tutors will be in touch with those affected by this change with further details in the coming days, including arrangements for virtual mock EPA days.
With regard to assessments, we are being as flexible as we possibly can and are making arrangements on an individual programme basis to extend assessment deadlines where possible. Apprentices can also submit exceptional factors or take a break-in-learning where current operational issues prevent them from meeting the requirements of their apprenticeship programme, in line with the recent government guidance published here.
Apprentices can keep up with all the latest student information at Student Life and tutors and Skills Coaches can provide them with any additional support they need. We will be monitoring apprentice engagement through Moodle records, and can share these with employers if requested. Library access is available online for articles and e-books.
In line with government advice, the majority of our buildings are currently closed and staff, including the Apprenticeship Team, have moved to remote working.
We will keep in contact with regular updates but please be assured that we are operating as normally as we can in these difficult circumstances and are here to support you should you have any queries. In the first instance, please contact your Apprenticeship Development Manager.
You can also reach us on (+44) 07717 421 548 (9:30am - 4pm Monday to Friday) or email us at apprenticeships@mmu.ac.uk with any general queries.
Best wishes,
