Biography

Alison is the Centre for Enterprise’s Enterprise Programme Manager. She is responsible for managing and implementing high profile and challenging enterprise programmes and the management of the Centre’s finances and operations. She has played a fundamental leadership role in the Centre’s growth and development since its creation in 2002. Alison is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) of the CfE. This recently established group was set up to oversee the strategic direction of the team, the projects we undertake, plan resources and discuss issues and resolutions.

Since 2018 Alison has played a pivotal role supporting the Centre for Enterprise/BPE to grow from 3 SME growth programmes delivered by the Business School with an annual turnover of £635,000 to its current position of delivering 14 SME programmes with an annual turnover of £5 million. As a result of the growth in programmes Alison now leads a finance and admin team to deliver large scale consortium funded programmes between the Business School, Science and Engineering and 4 university partners.

Her role has developed into a funding expert for pre-award applications and her unique expertise and insight into costing and managing large consortium funded programmes is increasingly being recognised across the institution. This can include costing methodologies, State Aid and procurement guidance which has expanded from EU only funded projects to include UKRI, BEIS and DfES.

Alison graduated from MMU in 1998 with a BA in History and Politics and is a qualified Prince2 Practitioner.
In her spare time Alison is a devoted ‘Dance Mum’ and spends most weekends trailing around the country with her daughter to competitions. She is also the Treasurer for registered charity The Friends of Bredbury Green.
