Biography

Bo offers key expertise in financial and compliance management and audit co-ordination for externally funded projects, in particular those funded by the European Union. She plays a vital role in designing and developing robust systems and processes, in order to successfully delivery the Centre’s projects and manage MMU’s risk.

Bo has extensive experience in managing complex budget arrangements, compiling financial reports and returns, developing and operating administrative and monitoring systems and processes, managing a portfolio of activities and multiple objectives simultaneously, and fostering positive networks and working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

With over 15 years’ experience, Bo has thorough understanding and substantial knowledge of funded programmes and their requirements in terms of monitoring, reporting, quality assurance, and risk management, and serves as a source of specialist advice and guidance for those involved in funded project activities. Bo currently oversees the contract and compliance management of a suite of eight European Regional Development Fund projects.

Bo has a Level 4 Diploma in Accounting from Association of Accounting Technicians, as well as a BA in Philosophy from Jilin University, China, and an MSc in Hospitality Management from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.

When she is not tied up with work or care responsibilities, Bo is an avid dancer of ballet, classical Chinese and Argenitine Tango. Since July 2020, exasperated by the lockdown and WFH, Bo has started horse-riding. Having a leisurely walk with her husband in the countryside at quiet twilight hours is another fav of Bo’s.
