Biography

Rebecca is part of the Business and Public Engagement team, which works intensively and collaboratively to drive forward all SME and external initiatives for the Faculty and beyond.

Currently (March 2022 – present) Rebecca is Project Manager for the OPEN SME online platform, an on-demand learning programme that aims to support small business owners to increase productivity, profitability, resilience, and sustainability. Delivered via a purpose built Virtual Learning Environment, OPEN SME presents knowledge and expertise from Greater Manchester’s university business schools in bite sized chunks of learning leading to actionable outcomes across the topics of people, digital, finance and markets.

(June 2021 – April 2022) Rebecca is Project Management lead for the Skills Bootcamps IN Digital. IN Digital is a DfE funded project as part of the Government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’, a relatively new funding stream and initiative. IN Digital offers the opportunity for individuals to upskill/reskill by supporting them to develop the in-demand tech skills and providing industry expertise to move towards a role in the tech industry. The project consortium combines three faculties at the University and three external delivery partners. The project is part of a wider consortia of 17 other university partner-led projects with a combined value of c.£17m, managed by the Institute of Coding (IoC), University of Bath.

Prior to this, Rebecca was project manager for the ERASMUS+ DiTEM project, leading a consortium of six other European partners to deliver the project outcomes. A three-year project, DiTEM engaged with 500+ micro enterprise leaders to develop: a freely available online training platform, a ‘train the trainer’ for DiTEM Coaches and additional training materials. The training will develop micro enterprise leaders as ‘e-leaders’, delivering digital technology transformation to micro enterprises across Europe.

Throughout her time in the BPE (Centre for Enterprise) Team, Rebecca has managed and collaborated on a number of ERASMUS+, ESF and ERDF funded initiatives with a focus on SME growth and innovation.

Rebecca holds a BA (Hons) 2:1 in American Studies from the University of Central Lancashire and is Prince 2 Practitioner qualified.
