Prior to joining MMU, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Associate at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), The University of Manchester. She received the first PhD degree in Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008 and the second PhD degree in Business and management from AMBS in 2021.

She has successfully coordinated and taught a number of course units at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in AMBS, including Quantitative Methods for Business and Management, Fundamentals of Data Analytics, Statistical Models for Business, Decision Analysis for Business & Management, Business Decision Analytics, Risk, Performance and Decision Analysis.

Her current research focuses primarily on decision sciences and data analytics, e.g., data-driven performance modelling and decision analysis of sustainable energy. She is an external member of Decision and Cognitive Sciences Research Centre (DCSRC) at AMBS. She has completed research rants as Principal investigator or and Co-investigator at AMBS and Turing-Manchester funding. Previously, she visited as a Visiting Research Fellow the Department of Computer Science, The University of Manchester in 2011 and explored the use of machine learning and optimisation for intelligent decision support. She has published more than 20 research articles in journals in the fields of business and engineering, and presented her research in a series of international conferences, such as ICIM, EURO and OR60.
