Biography

Anastasia, who joined Manchester Metropolitan Business School in 2013, is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is also a Certified Online Facilitator (EFMD). 

She holds a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) where she is still an Honorary Lecturer. She taught in the past on AMBS’ Global MBA programme in countries such as China, Singapore, Brazil, USA, UAE etc. She has previously held the posts of Visiting Lecturer of Management at the Department of Public and Business Administration of the University of Cyprus and Lecturer in Human Resource Management at the University of Central Lancashire (UK). She has also been collaborating with Cyprus International Institute of Management since 2012 and has been teaching on the MBA and MSc in HRM programmes. She is a member of the Manchester Industrial Relations Society and the Cyprus HRM Association.

Since the beginning of her career she has enjoyed teaching a wide range of topics such as HRM and International HRM, Organisational Behaviour, Business Strategy, Research Methods etc. She has taught students at all levels but her teaching tends to be at postgraduate and MBA level. She has also run training workshops for private firms in the past on issues such “Managing resistance to change”.

Her research interests include: cross-cultural management and international business, diffusion of Human Resource Management practices within Multinational Corporations, life-cycle models in foreign subsidiaries, types of local ownerships and impact on HRM, employee involvement and participation, HRM in SMEs, feedback and performance management and talent management. She is a co-author on the latest edition of ‘HRM at work’ – one of CIPD seminal textbooks. Her work has been published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals such as the International Journal of Human Resource Management and she has presented a number of papers at international academic conferences.
