Biography

Emma holds a Post Graduate Teaching Assistant position at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), within the Strategy, Enterprise, and Sustainability Department.  She is also a PhD student where her research explores how culture and place has affected the development of social enterprise networks in North Wales. 

Emma has extensive business experience gained within the public and charity sectors. She has successfully led a number of high-profile strategic change projects in the public sector including the delivery of a refreshed public engagement strategy and the implementation of a rebranding campaign.

As a Charity Manager Emma successfully launched an innovative bike-recycling scheme that provided supported employment experiences for people with autism and learning disabilities. The initiative creatively developed commercial income streams, enabling the business to achieve its charitable objectives.

Since 2013, Emma has held a Directorship at Dee Valley Trust, a social enterprise that seeks to create economic and regeneration opportunities within the Dee Valley area.

An alumnus of Wrexham Glyndwr University, Emma graduated with her MBA in 2018.

She has a Diploma in Professional Consulting, is a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE) and is a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA).

At home Emma likes to relax with her dog, Biscuit and her daughter and enjoys camping and open water swimming.
