Law Employers Cafés

You will have the opportunity to network with employers who are offering training contracts, paralegal and work experience opportunities. We hold these successful events twice a year and all our Law students are welcome to attend.

Careers and Employability

The Law School provides a specialist in-house legal careers advisory & information service, which is available to all students studying at Manchester Law School. This includes support in finding law-related work experience and help finding pupillage (the last stage of training to become a barrister).

You will also have access to general careers support throughout your time with us, and up to three years after you leave, including:

• Career development workshops
• CV writing support
• Interview and networking preparation
• Career guides, videos and resources
• Law career fairs
• Going Global – an online database – ideal for international students planning to return home to work or any postgraduate student looking to explore a career in a new country
• Advice on self-employment and freelancing
• Employer visit and presentations


Student Support

Student Support Officers are here to help you maximise all the opportunities available at Manchester Law School and Manchester Metropolitan University. You can access support on academic study skills, including regular workshops, and any pastoral issues you may be facing.

Through our Personal Tutor System, you will also have regular scheduled meetings to maintain your progress, both in person and online.
We also have dedicated Student Experience Tutors whose role it is to help you take up opportunities and initiatives available within the School and wider University, and enhance your experience with us.
