I am a Behavioural Ecologist, who every now and then conducts side trips into Evolutionary Biology and Animal Cognition. The main research topic of my team and me is the evolution and ecology of social behaviour, with a current focus on complex social systems. We are mainly working on aquatic animals (e.g. Lake Tanganyika cichlids, three-spined stickleback or different crustaceans) to answer our questions. We combine controlled lab experiments at MMU with field work at Lake Tanganyika.
