One year on from the publication of the government's white paper, and just a few months away from Brexit, the time is ripe to consider the status of UK industrial strategy. Join us for a discussion of where we are, and where we are going, jointly organised by Future Economies (Manchester Metropolitan University) and the Institute for Policy Research (University of Bath) with the support of the British Academy.

Over two sessions, a panel of experts will explore some of the key industrial policy topics and dilemmas: the prospects for localising industrial strategy, the value of supporting particular industries, the quest for enhanced productivity and good jobs, and the role of low-value industries. The overall aim is to map the range of policy areas that need to inform a comprehensive industrial strategy, as well as the political conditions required to sustain it.
