Manchester Metropolitan receives silver status in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
Assessment panel said the University delivers high quality teaching, learning and outcomes for students
Manchester Metropolitan University has received silver status in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
The assessment panel, comprised of students, academics, widening participation experts and employers, judged that Manchester Metropolitan University delivers high quality teaching, learning and outcomes for its students and that we consistently exceed rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education.
As well as the Silver award, our individual feedback praised the support we provide to our students and the links we have forged with businesses and the public sector.
The TEF was introduced in 2016 to recognise and reward high quality teaching in higher education, to encourage a stronger focus on teaching, and to enable prospective students to make an informed choice of their preferred institution.
Universities are rated using statistics from the National Student Survey, student retention rates and graduate employment data.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Malcolm Press said: “Manchester Metropolitan prides itself on high quality teaching across our courses and a Silver award reinforces this. Gaining silver status recognises the dedication and commitment that all members of our University invest in delivering an outstanding student experience.
“We continuously strive to achieve excellence through our teaching and the introduction of the Teaching Excellence Framework has recognised this. It also allows us to review and improve year-on-year, enhancing still further the quality of the learning and teaching environment.
“The student experience whilst at University is one that can transform opportunities in life. Our excellent teaching standards and learning outcomes, as recognised by the TEF, ensure that students who decide to study with us are well prepared to succeed in their chosen career.”
